Evaluation and optimization of ASM1 parameters using large-scale WWTP monitoring data from a subtropical climate region in Brazil

Abstract This study aimed at providing a set of optimal kinetic and stoichiometric parameters ASM1 representative wastewater from subtropical climate region in Brazil. was applied on the STOAT program, model were evaluated optimized with sensitivity analysis Response Surface Methodology (RSM) to reach minimum prediction errors effluent TSS, COD, NH3. Six sensitive identified: YH, YA, μA, KNH, bA, kOA. Predictions RSM regression models strongly correlated predictions. YH mainly affected TSS other calibration estimated values resulted approximately null for modeling state variables. NH3 presented similar results validation; meanwhile, COD high related increase due optimization. The parameters, kOA, constitute references studies using data region. value should be as well effect sludge wastage methods simulation periods.
